You will enhance the prosperity of farmers by:
- Supporting the business growth of vegetables portfolio by creating downstream marketing as well as pulling through focus on Value Added Products, driving specific projects
- Building strong customer relationships and strategic partnerships for the development of innovative consumer focus concepts (inside categories).
- Continuing anticipation, identification and analysis of key market trends and its implications for the company’s sales strategy, communicating effectively the opportunities to management
- Ability to transform expert crop and product knowledge into innovative consumer-oriented concepts that add value to the chain
- Keeping up to date of the changes in the food chain business relationships and partnerships sharing it with the internal network.
- Interfacing with the Regional Portfolio Managers and Global Crop Unit heads.
- Managing and coordinating directly selected strategic food chain projects within the region and with interaction with other regions
- Building market knowledge and insights on value chain and sharing within the wider business to inform strategic crop decisions
- Managing and driving delivery of in territory value chain projects
- Managing budget for Americas food value chain initiatives
- Represent the company in front of key downstream players
Accountabilities
- Design and set up the Regional Value Chain strategy in coordination with the Region Veg Seeds Leadership Team
- Design and implement the Tools and Ways of Working for Value chain activities aligned with Veg seed BU priorities
- Lead and monitor implementation of Value Chain Key Account Management Best practices
- Managed defined Key Accounts and work with commercial team to develop enhanced demand for Syngenta varieties
- Support demand creation for mainstream portfolio throughout value chain
- Grow the value-added partnership sales and develop the Syngenta impact and presence with the value chain
- Create demand and promote the value-added partnership portfolio in selected downstream Key accounts
- Manage key downstream relations across different countries
- Contribute to the implementation of the Regional value chain communication platforms
- Lead and organize participation in Regional value chain events/forums
- Manage and follow up the development of projects with selected Regional /TER Value Chain players
- Key interface with the Regional Portfolio Team
- Key interface with Territory Managers and Sales Managers in the Region
Qualifications
Requirements
- BA/BS in Agricultural and/or Business
- 5+ years in marketing, sales, account management or retail management in the Food Chain (preferably in Vegetables or Fresh produce Industry)
- 5+ years of Vegetables Seeds or other seeds business (sales and/or marketing) experience
- Solid knowledge of the Vegetables Seeds market, particularly the Fresh market sector and understanding of customer needs
- Well-rounded marketing knowledge to include, Key Account and product segmentation, customer strategy
- Track record of successful team & processes and customer management
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
- Strong business acumen
- Strong team player integrated into the PD and sales team of the region.
- Requires the ability to travel - 40%
