To support that challenge, the Global Vegetable Seeds team is currently seeking a Global Demand Planner for Vegetable Seeds located in Downers Grove, Illinois. As the Global Demand Planner, you will lead the demand planning process of new and existing products across regions and species and lead associated change management initiatives.

You will help shape the future of agriculture by:

  • Leading collaborative demand planning process for Vegetable Seeds.
  • Managing the processes of demand planning and exception management, Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) management, and standardized pricing management to ensure that the activities are done in the same way across the regions
  • Establishing the Global Sales and Operations process
  • Supporting the Global Commercial Unit Heads with quality insights about the forecast changes
  • Providing process documentation for the global demand related processes: MAPS, demand planning, security stock, and crop release
  • Actively challenging and seeking to improve the planning processes
 
Accountabilities
  • Lead collaborative demand planning process for vegetable seeds across regions between Commercial, Marketing, Supply Operations and Finance to drive alignment around business priorities and enable effective decision-making
  • Report and monitor defined demand planning Key Performance Indicators and metrics, and proactively recommend and drive improvement initiatives
  • Facilitate and coordinate the biannual Crop release meetings
  • Actively communicate to and support the Global Crop Unit Heads in optimizing sales and gross profit as well as managing optimal inventory levels
  • Mentor and support the regional demand planning teams, driving best practice across the geographies as needed
  • Lead and improve the global demand planning process
  • Ensure that the critical demand planning processes and tools are designed and function as efficiently as possible and implemented globally
  • Serve as technical expert in matters concerning forecasting tool, process and system integration with Production and Supply, Finance
  • Establish forecast accuracy and demand uncertainty Key Performance Indicators
  • Collate and analyse demand change drivers and assumptions for review and discussion in the global crop release meetings
  • Provide insights about the forecast changes based on available reports to support the Global Crop Unit Heads for the Crop release meetings and other ad-hoc requests
  • Establish pricing tool and standardize the pricing process across regions in alignment with the forecast process
  • Ensure pricing integrity
  • Be the global tool expert of the globally used tools like Integrated Business Planning, SKU tools and act as the mentor and the “go to people” for the regions

Qualifications
 
 Requirements
 
  • Bachelor of Science Degree (Masters preferred) preferably in Computer Science, Statistics, Math, Supply Chain Management or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in a Demand Planning or Demand Management, Commercial Operations, Marketing or Supply Chain roles
  • Ability to operate statistical analysis tools, Enterprise Resource Planning systems and planning systems
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
Preferred Requirements
  • Understanding of Vegetables industry, value chain and dynamics
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams by influence
  • Advanced analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and create relationships across functions and regions
  • Understanding of global strategy and implementing with region specificities
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
