About Us
At Syngenta, we are working to build the most collaborative and trusted team in agriculture that provides leading seeds and crop protection innovations to enhance the prosperity of farmers. We are currently seeking a Global Quality Lead, Cucurbits and Industrials in Boise, ID.
You will enhance the prosperity of farmers by:
- Providing quality process ownership and drive the Global crop unit Cucurbits and Industrial crops to maintain a quality culture and continuous quality improvements with an end-to-end scope. With other Crop units foster collaboration to align, harmonize and simplify.
Accountabilities
- Maintain a proactive quality culture and continuous improvement within the crop’s end-to-end processes
- Be a constant advisor and enabler on quality issues to the Global supply chain manager
- Perform consistent quality monitoring, data analytics and updates to the Cucurbit and Industrials Global crop unit
- Represent the crop unit in other quality initiatives
- Develop and maintain the crops product specification
- Organize & coordinate resources for effective deployment of the quality management system
- Own and drive the Crop unit’s quality improvement plans and other key quality improvements in the end-to-end crop process
- Ensure quality control standards, testing and processing activities meet customer needs
- Network with global and regional Quality assurance for effective deployment of the Quality Management System and act as the main contact point representing production & supply for customer complaints
- Exchange best practices & learnings and drive harmonization cross-functional and cross-crop
- Drive tangible improvement initiatives within and across functions
- Share learnings from incidents and proposed remediation and changes in operating procedure
Qualifications
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Seed Science, Horticulture or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of Vegetable Seeds QC or Processing industry knowledge with a global company, preferably in a matrix structure
- Understanding of seed physiology, pathology, seed conditioning, enhancement, treatment and production
- Experience and understanding of quality control tests
- Good understanding of global vegetable seed and commercial vegetable markets
- 5 years of experience in seeds / horticultural / agricultural business or supply chain
- Experience in working / leading multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams and or departments

- Proven success in building relationships and influencing from the side (as required in a matrix structure)
- Supply chain operations / planning / project management experience
- Team building and change management skills
- Strategic leadership abilities and experience
- Strong communication and collaboration skills at all levels
