Pioneer Hi-Bred, a Dupont business, is currently seeking Senior Research Associate-Transformation Technologies in Johnston, Iowa. As part of the Transformation technologies group, the Senior Research Associate will conduct research with the objective of improving corn transformation efficiency and the molecular quality of events produced. This individual will have responsibility for design and construction of vectors and molecular analyses of events generated. The individual is responsible for following experimental procedures according to agreed protocols and for collecting, organizing, and summarizing study data into written reports as well as analysis and interpretation of these data. The individual may have responsibility for direct reports.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Provide vector construction and molecular support for the Transformation technologies team:
• Design and conduct experiments.
• Review and edit protocols.
• Document, analyze, and summarize experimental results for study reports.
• Manage multiple tasks and generate data in a timely and efficient manner.
• Interpret, analyze, document and report results to the transformation group.
• Ensures efficient daily operation of laboratories and supporting other research staff.

A Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Biological Sciences or Biotechnology and three years of related experience or equivalent levels of relevant education and experience. Industry related experience is preferred. Demonstrated competency in Agrobacterium biology, vector construction, molecular biology and targeted mutagenesis. Other Qualifications: Good understanding of vector NTI software and application desired. Good organizational and multi-tasking abilities. Good technical writing and records management skills. Ability to meet work deadlines. Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills. Computer competency, particularly using Microsoft Office software.
