About this Job:
- Provide advanced analytics support and drive Asset Footprint and SCND (Supply Chain Network Design) assessments
- Be a key contributor in the Asset Footprint and SCND technical strategy
- Help Asset Footprint and SCND team become an integral part to cross-functional decision making in Syngenta by partnering across Seeds Ops functions and beyond, informing data-driven trade-off decisions
- Drive supply chain orientation and bring external insights and best practices related to industry and academic developments around supply chain management
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support delivery of the large global/regional Asset Footprint and SCND assessments in a way that creates business value and meet the evolving market needs, including capital investment and capital avoidance
- Lead small/medium scope Asset Footprint and SCND assessments
- Co-develop and implement Asset Footprint and SCND technical strategy
- Develop and implement sustainable approaches and tools for both strategic as well as tactical trade-off decisions across supply chain
- Communicate appropriately with global stakeholders across geographies and cultures
- Collaborate globally with respective departments, incl. Planning, Logistics, Finance, Production Research and ensure appropriate links exist with long-term asset network management process
- Provide coaching in advanced analytics and network design methodology to partner departments (Planning, Finance, Production, etc.)
- Support new Asset Footprints implementation and benefit tracking globally
- Follow and drive supply chain design discussions outside the company, seek out innovative ideas and opportunities from other companies / industries and bring them back into P&S
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years of post-graduate experience(incl. regional/global) in supply chain strategy, network design, supply/demand planning, operations finance/performance control or alternatively a PhD in Operations with practical experience of working in/with industry
- Master degree or PhD in Supply Chain Management (desirable), Business Administration, Engineering or Applied Physics/Mathematics
- In-depth understanding of Operations Management (e.g. Logistics, Supply Planning) and Supply Chain Management
- Profound supply chain design expertise and understanding of end-to-end supply chain network design and optimization
- Understanding of the key Industry/Supply Chain 4.0 and advanced analytics concepts and trends
- Project management
Additional Knowledge, Skills, Traits & Abilities:
- Diverse experience of working in several functions(production, planning, transport, customer service, finance control) at a country and above level in a multinational company or 2+ years as a supply chain management consultant/team lead in a top-tier operations focused consulting company (Accenture, Big4)
- Cross functional and multi-cultural project management aptitude
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and to apply complex technical knowledge and hands-on business experience to practical problems
- Experience in developing operational and financial models to inform trade-off decisions
- Solid understanding of corporate financial accounting, managerial accounting and common costing methodologies is an advantage
- Change management experience is an advantage
- Strategic / business planning experience is an advantage
- Commercial or Seeds knowledge is an advantage
- Workshop facilitation, catalyst skills is an advantage
