Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Evolve the Agile capability and embed the agile ways of working across regions and functions
  • Actively get engaged in projects and programs, through hands-on support, including running workshops and collaborating with people across widely varying levels and roles
  • Provide expert level of agile expertise to Program and Project Management teams in the execution of Agile techniques and processes
  • Drive the broader adoption of Agile by actively embedding the required cultural change
  • Work with senior stakeholders across IT to define agile project interventions
  • Develop and lead Agile Project Managers, coaches and practitioners in support of Agile projects
  • Manage Agile resource demand in collaboration with other IT functions
  • Promote a culture of experimentation and innovation
  • Lead and facilitate a regional Agile network
  • Own the regional Agile project metrics
  • Drive and direct supplier partners in the application of Agile and to actively coach supplier teams in the achievement of their deliverables
Qualifications
 

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field is required
  • Master’s Degree is preferred
  • 10+ years of Agile delivery & development experience at large, complex organizations
  • Experience transforming large organizations through the application of Agile practices
  • Strong technical project management and software delivery management skills
  • 2+ years of active Agile coaching
  • Demonstrated ability to drive and deliver large, complex, high profile/value projects
  • Proven skills in leading the development and implementation of IT and Functional strategies
  • Management of senior stakeholders up to the EVP level
  • Experience leading senior teams with a proven track record of motivational and achievement oriented leadership
  • Ability to work well in and across diverse global teams and proven ability to influence others to achieve positive outcomes
  • Demonstrate strong communication and relationship building skills
  • Advanced level of proficiency in planning, change management and problem solving with the ability to resolve issues of a highly complex and strategic nature
  • Experience of driving and leading innovative solutions
  • Awareness of developments in the IT and IS marketplace and with an understanding of their relevance to Syngenta IS

Additional Knowledge, Skills, Traits & Abilities:

  • Detailed level of understanding of Agile techniques and processes and how they can be applied to solve both Business and IT solutions
  • Agile certified / accredited
  • Ensuring that objectives of Syngenta staff and (importantly) third parties are aligned to Syngenta and Syngenta IS overall goals and objectives
  • Sound change and  people management expertise regarding Cultural and International awareness
  • Possess strong strategic acumen with the ability to develop hypotheses
  • Ability to work precisely on a very detailed level whist maintaining focus on the higher level objectives to ensure appropriate allocation of time and resources
  • Ability to consistently gather data and to provide effective reporting
  • Able to manage high levels of uncertainty and ambiguity in a dynamic environment which is sometimes hostile
  • Ability to convert strategy into implementation
