Asia* Research & Breeding Manager
* India, Thailand, Indonesia; excluding China and Japan

POSITION PURPOSE :

Attached administratively to one of the three Clause subsidiaries in the region (India, Thailand, Indonesia) and reporting to the Head of Clause R and B, the manager:

• Assures the coordination and development of synergies between breeding programs within the region
• Assures the coordination of R and B with the Development and Production functions in the region with a view to minimizing time to market of new hybrids
• Facilitates access of Asian R and B personnel to technology and expertise within the wider BU
• Develops Best Working Practice along BU lines in all areas of Research, Breeding and Operations and provides for appraisal/audit of the same
• Develops appropriate ties with public research across the region
• Represents HM Clause in professional /industry bodies in the region
• Manages R and B personnel in each subsidiary in line with BU principals, to include appraisal and hiring
• For each subsidiary, proposes budgets R and B (OPEX and CAPEX) to the BU head of R and B and manages resources allocated
• Provides contextual information to the BU EC (markets, technologies, competitors) that can have a bearing on strategic choices for the region.

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS :

• M Sc or engineering degree, agricultural Vegetable Specification;
• R and B site management, 5 + years and/or operational experience within a complex organization Management and Seed business experience
• Fluent in English;
• Organized and rigorous;
• Proactive and able to suggest continuous improvement means;
• Good communication skills.

SALARY: according to experience
