Takii France
Takii France is a subsidiary of Takii & Co., Ltd and is located in two places in France. In Grisolles, Takii is active in seed production and -processing. In Eyragues, Takii has established up a pre-breeding station for vegetable crops. Eyragues is situated in a small community near Avignon. Takii Europe Takii Europe is a subsidiary of Takii & Co., Ltd. in Japan. Headquartered in De Kwakel, The Netherlands, we cover the European, Middle East, African and Central Asia markets of our parent company. Together with Takii France and Takii Spain we manage breeding stations, production sites and sales offices contributing to the supply and promotion of a wide assortment of vegetables and flower varieties to professional growers and to the home garden market. Recruitment for our European sister companies is coordinated from these headquarters.
For our pre-breeding station in Eyragues, France we are looking for a fulltime PRE-BREEDER
Main tasks
- Under direct supervision of the director of plant breeding and research of Takii France, you will responsible for proposing new innovative breeding programs in vegetable crops. Identification, selection and study of innovative traits in term of quality and resistance will be amongst your main tasks, although all agronomically traits such as plant architecture, tolerance to abiotic stresses will also be targets of the pre-breeding.
- You will be in charge of setting up new research collaborations with universities and institutes.
- You will be supported by a team of researchers, breeders, plant pathologist located in France, Spain, the Netherlands and Japan.
Job requirements
- We expect you to have a passion for molecular biology, physiology and genetics.
- You must have a Phd in plant sciences, with a specialisation in Molecular biology and Genetics, and 1 -2 post doc graduations.
- Ideally you will have 3 to 5 years’ experience in Public institute or seed company. If you do not have the post docs, 3 to 5 years in Public institute or seed company is mandatory.
- You must have good knowledge of molecular biology, physiology and genetics.
- Experience with Tomatoes or a Solanaceous crop will be considered a plus!
- It goes without saying that you are analytical, creative and driven.
- For this function it is necessary that you are fluent in English and French. If you speak Spanish that would also be considered as a plus.
- You love to work both individually and in a team, and you are adept at organizing your own working hours.
- Living and working in a rural setting in France appeals to you, as does travelling to Spain and the Netherlands regularly.
- You are experienced in working with breeding software.
