For the cotton breeding station, in Greece Spirou Group is recruiting a cotton breeder assistant.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Implementation of the cotton breeding activities in Greece, Spain, Turkey, Middle East and contribution to planning
• Supervision and organization of winter nursery activities
• Trait development cotton germplasm and parental line improvement and creation and identification of new cotton heterotic combinations
• Production of nucleus and breeder and basic seed and genetic purity of materials upstream in the supply chain
• Management of the above activities on target, time, and cost

PROFILE:

• Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Agricultural Sciences with emphasis in breeding, genetics
• Extensive knowledge of cotton and experience in the crop management and seed production. Affinity with cotton and with extensive field work is a must
• Active field work in similar position min. 3 years within a Commercial Seed Co.
• Experience in field work and breeding preferably cotton.
• Strong communication skills, ability to operate in Greece, Turkey, Spain, Egypt & very good knowledge of computer applications

Regular travel is required.
