Hubner Seed introduces 30 new varieties or corn, soybeans and wheat for 2006
West Lebanon, Indiana
September 15, 2005

Hubner Seed Co., Inc., a producer of corn, soybeans, wheat and alfalfa seeds operating in 15 states throughout the midwest and east coast, announced it will have 22 new varieties of corn, five new soybean varieties and three new varieties of wheat for the 2006 growing season.

These new seeds offer strong defensive packages, impressive yields and a variety of options to meet farm, pest and soil specific needs.

“We’re always improving our seed and our technology to meet the high standards that Hubner Seed customers have,” said Bob Hubner, Hubner Seed president.

Hubner Seed is adding six conventional corn hybrids and 16 hybrids with genetic technology. Leading the new conventional varieties is H3688 with excellent yield potential and strong stalk and root strength. H5592PR offers a genetic package that is loaded with options.

“Our H5592PR corn hybrid is going to get lots of attention with a genetic package that offers Roundup Ready, corn borer protection and rootworm protection all in one seed,” Hubner said.

Four of the five new Roundup Ready soybean varieties offer cyst nematode resistance.

“H302NRR has impressed our customers,” said Hubner. “It’s new 3.0 maturity yield standard and strong defensive package works well in most weather and soil conditions.”

For the first time Hubner Seed will offer a bearded wheat variety, H98B. This late maturity seed has heavy test weights and high yielding potential.
