More About the Corn Rootworm Management Distance Education
Workshop
Two different distance education workshops on corn rootworm
management will be presented on February 4 and 11. Details to
come in the next few weeks.
New Crop Management Conferences Planned by University of
Illinois Extension
Three regional Crop Management Conferences will be conducted by
University of Illinois Extension specialists and educators in
Effingham (February 8-9), Jacksonville (February 22-23), and
Malta (March 1-2).
2005 Crop Protection Technology Conference--Don't Forget to
Register
The registration fee for the 57th Illinois Crop Protection
Technology Conference in Urbana increases on December 18th. A
flexible format allows participants to tailor their own programs
and earn up to 10 CCA credits.
Consistency Ratings for Corn Rootworm Control Products
Consistency percentages for corn rootworm control products
obtained in 2004 experiments are provided. Again this year,
insecticidal seed treatments did not provide a desired level of
consistency.
Asian Soybean Rust Confirmation in Louisiana Raises Concern of
Potential Impact of This Disease in Illinois
The recent discovery of the aggressive Asian soybean rust in the
continental U.S. has raised concern in Illinois. Its arrival or
impact in the state cannot be predicted with any certainty, but
multiple sources are available to provide more information,
including the Illinois Crop Protection Technology Conference and
the three regional Crop management Conferences.
