One of the leading leisure time activities for farmers in the
Western Corn Belt is fishing. "The professional fisherman’s
tournaments are great fun to watch, and the professionally

South Dakota in this year’s Professional Walleye Trail (PWT)
tournaments. Spaid has been fishing the PWT since 1993 with many
awards earned during that time. He’s placed first in the South
Dakota Governor’s Cup Walleye Tournament three times since 1990,
as well as earning eight other top awards in walleye tournaments
since 1993. In both 1998 and 2000, Spaid qualified for the
In-Fisherman Professional Walleye Trail Championships.
"As a native of central South Dakota, I’ve been a fishing and
hunting guide for many years," Spaid said. "Now being able to
