One of the leading leisure time activities for farmers in the Western Corn Belt is fishing. "The professional fisherman’s tournaments are great fun to watch, and the professionally guided tours are the best entertainment around," Ed Robinson, president of The J.C. Robinson Seed Co. said. "Plus with a professional fisherman like Dave Spaid, who also has extensive experience in agriculture and the seed industry, we knew we’d found a great match."

The J.C. Robinson Seed Co. is sponsoring Dave Spaid, Pierre, South Dakota in this year’s Professional Walleye Trail (PWT) tournaments. Spaid has been fishing the PWT since 1993 with many awards earned during that time. He’s placed first in the South Dakota Governor’s Cup Walleye Tournament three times since 1990, as well as earning eight other top awards in walleye tournaments since 1993. In both 1998 and 2000, Spaid qualified for the In-Fisherman Professional Walleye Trail Championships.

"As a native of central South Dakota, I’ve been a fishing and hunting guide for many years," Spaid said. "Now being able to team up with The J.C. Robinson Seed Co. for this year’s tournaments will allow both the Company and me to expand our relationship with our customers."

Along with seeing Spaid at the PWT tournaments, customers will also have a chance to meet him during the major farm shows in the Western Corn Belt at the Golden Harvest/The J.C. Robinson Seed Co. display. In addition, Spaid will be posting fishing tips and favorite recipes on the Company’s website, www.jcrob.com.

"Dave’s a great guy and a superb fisherman," Robinson said. "Customers will enjoy meeting him and finding out all his secrets. Well, a few of them anyway!"
