BioWorks, Inc.
announced today that the California Department of Pesticide
Regulation has approved BioWorks’ MilStop™ Broad Spectrum Foliar
Fungicide.
MilStop is a foliar-applied product that works well in an
integrated program with BioWorks’ biofungicides PlantShield® HC
and RootShield® Granules, as well as all other commonly used
fungicides. Commenting on MilStop’s approval, BioWorks’
President & CEO, Bill Foster, stated, "We want to give growers
in California an addition to their arsenal of safe and
cost-effective products to prevent foliar diseases, in rotation
with our current EPA-registered biocontrol product PlantShield
HC. And one of the many strengths of MilStop is its ability to
both cure and prevent Powdery Mildew infections."
Mr. Foster noted that MilStop has a 4-hour Restricted Entry
Interval ("REI") and can be applied to roses, grapes, ornamental
nut and fruit trees, as well as many herbs and vegetables.
BioWorks stated that they have recently submitted a request to
the EPA to lower the REI for MilStop and has applied for organic
certification. In addition, Mr. Foster noted that BioWorks will
soon submit a request to the California Department of Pesticide
Regulation that greatly expands the crops listed on the MilStop
label as well as the range of diseases controlled.
